An important question when purchasing a new kitchen faucet is will it match the number of holes in your
existing kitchen sink, countertop or the sink you plan on purchasing. Planning this out will save you any headaches
later whether it is the number of holes in the kitchen sink or the location of the holes in the sink. You will want to match
the kitchen faucet and any accessories such as
soap dispenser,
air gap or
hot water dispenser to
the number of predrilled holes on the kitchen sink. You will also want to check the spacing between holes especially when adding
accessories such as air gaps and hot water dispensers. If there are extra holes or you may want to
use them at a later date, you can always use the base plate to cover them if the faucet comes with one as an
option.
TIP 1:
Extrathick countertop? – If you are using an above average counter top such as extra thick
granite or wood you may have a problem with a deck mounted faucet as the shaft may not be long enough to go through the
counter top so you can the locking washer on underneath. Look at the faucet shaft length on the specifications.
Many of the faucets we sell have extension kits sold separately.
TIP 2:
Enough clearance behind sink? All kitchen faucets have
different handle control designs and some need more room then others to turn the water on and off. Always check the
distance between the sink and the backsplash or wall for adequate clearance. When purchasing a new kitchen sink
to go with your faucet make sure
